We set out with the truffle hunter, known as the “trifolao” and his dog, the “tabui”, on foot, into the woods of Rocchetta Tanaro, in search of precious underground mushrooms: the White Truffle and the Black Truffle, depending on the season. Visitors will be enchant-ed by legends and stories about the truffle and the techniques used to hunt for it.
This is followed by a little snack with the trifolao, accompanied by a glass of Braida wine.
The truffles found during the search are the property of the trifolao but can be purchased on site if desired.
The trifolao speaks Italian; an English translator is available upon request.
Appropriate clothing for walking in the woods is recommended.
The maximum number of people in the group is eight, so as not to distract the dog too much from the hunt.
